How to Still Achieve Your Goals Before the Year Ends

How to Still Achieve Your Goals Before the Year Ends

The leaves are turning brown and gracefully falling to the ground. Before you know it, the clock will strike 12 on December 31st and a new year will arrive. The time of the year where we make new resolutions, new goals, new promises to be a better person—often without even reaching our previous ones. Let this year be different and work on achieving your goals before the year ends.

We’re officially into the last quarter of the year and three months may just be enough to achieve the goals you set at the beginning of the year.

It may feel like a preposterous task to take on, but with these few simple steps, you’ll be able to achieve your goals before the year ends and feel ecstatically proud of it.

Step 1: Analyze Your Goals

At the beginning of the year, you set a few goals. Goals you found important to pursuit.

During the year life happened and things changed. Now it’s time to see if those goals are still relevant, desirable, and realistic. Check which ones you’ve already reached and decided which one you still feel are important to pursuit.

In order to achieve your goals before the year ends you need to have clarity on what you’re trying to achieve. Mark the progress you’ve already made for the goals you want to go after.

Step 2: Make a List of Your New Goals

Now that you have clarity around the goals you truly desire to accomplish, it’s time to get organized.

We often have the tendency to create unattainable goals by overestimating our focus and miscalculating how many hours a day we must spend on sleeping, eating, and other surviving tasks.

Make the goals you want to achieve before the year ends specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-based. Don’t create more than three goals and ideally not more than two.

You want your goals to be as specific as possible. Now just say you want to travel more. Specify what more means. Is it twice a year or three times a year? Be realistic.

If you know it’s hard for you to take time off from work or you have limited finances that just say you want to travel twice a year. One domestically and one international trip.

Step 3: Create an Action Plan

Each of your goals should have an action plan. Steps you have to make to achieve them and the deadline for each task.

For example, if making one international trip is one the goals you want to achieve before the year ends then state what steps you need to take to make it happen: research flights and accommodation costs, request time off, book ticket and accommodation, etcetera.

Step 4: Keep Track of Your Progress

Don’t just create a list and think you will magically achieve your goals by the years ends.

Remember how that went the first time? Use your Wilkii Planner to track your progress, strike each task done, and to remain on track.

Achieving your goals is one of the best sensations you can have. It boosts your motivation and confidence and you’ll be one step closer to the person you want to be in life.
